Attraction Builds
The Attraction would always be looking to add more LEGO content. I built many models that are now permanently part of the Attraction.

The register covers were some of my first projects. The most challenging ones were the “Sky” and the “Starbucks Logo”. The “Manager on Duty” looks just like the staff nametags and can be changed to say whatever is needed. Each build had to be unique and entertaining enough to engage our guests. The “Sky” is my favorite design. It starts as a sunny day, works through a storm, and then fades into night. Next to the nighttime side, I added a space themed cover as if you are looking upwards from the sky and into outer space. The clouds in the sky were designed to hold the brochures.

My design: I typically drew a basic design to follow but I always had a visual in my mind of what it would look like.

The next step in the design process is measuring and doing the math to figure out the length and height in LEGO bricks.

I added a replaceable light brick under the thunder cloud so that our staff could press a button create lightning for our guests.

I added simple columns for support while I built the model.

The challenge with this model was that it had to fit in the space and fit over different heights.
Starbucks
I needed to create new cash register covers when we began serving Starbucks brand coffee. I simplified their logo, and the design was approved by the Starbucks’ corporate marketing team.

New Years Day
One of the events at the Attraction was a “Noon Years Day Celebration”. For this event, we would do a countdown and ball drop at noon on New Years Day. This “disco” ball was repurposed from my basketball design and then covered in clear pieces to look like diamonds. It had a hole in the top and bottom so it could be lowered on a pole over the clock tower.
