Everett MINIFIGURES

As part of a partnership with the town of Everett, they asked if we could create builds to draw attention to the public transportation system. The idea was that I would build three, 3-foot tall MINIFGURE characters that all related to the city of Everett. They would be placed at three different bus stations as a sort of scavenger hunt for people.

Softball Player

This figure was based on Madeline “Maddie” English. She was from Everett, MA and was one of the first 60 players in the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League. She played for the Racine Belles as the third basewoman. The figure design is in an action pose with her standing on a base to help to recreate her softball career. I had to make sure the outfit correct, and I needed to design an interior frame for stability as the model was to be installed at a bus stop.

Construction Worker

We decided on this character because of all the construction going on at the time in Everett. The Encore Casino had been recently completed, and the town had more plans for growth. This character also closely resembles Emmet from the LEGO Movie, which would make him more of a recognizable figure for children.

Bertie

The LEGOLAND Discovery Centers have a mascot named Bertie. Bertie and his sister, Bonnie, lead the Factory Tour video and are very safety conscious. We decided to use Bertie as one of the figures to represent the Attraction. For each of these figures I used a mixture of programs. I used LEGO Brick Builder to create the 3D LEGO model and I used Sketchup to help design the interior frame. I also used Bricksaic to help design their faces and details on their outfits.
