Sleigh

We continuously strive to add large new LEGO builds to the attraction. The idea for the sleigh was to give our guests a featured annual photo opportunity.

Design Process

As this was a seasonal build, it needed to be mobile, starting with planning the base. We attached wheels to a pallet of approximate size to the footprint of the model. I built the sleigh on top of the base, and the entire build can be relocated by unlocking the wheels.

sleigh instructions collage.PNG — I designed the sleigh in LEGO Digital Designer and then created printable, layer by layer instructions. During construction, I filled the interior negative space with recycled DUPLO bricks from the Attraction. This allowed the bench to be 100% solid and safe for guests to sit upon, and we were able to recycle bricks that were no longer in use.
