Brickfactor
Each LEGOLAND Discovery Center holds a build off competition called “Brickfactor” to find their Master Model Builder (MMB). I competed in the first competition at the Boston Public Library in January of 2014. I made it to the top 10, but I did not win. I did make an impression with the management of the Discovery Center and was asked to be a Duty Manager at the Attraction, which opened on May 23, 2014.
Round 1 - 30 Minutes: Something from your favorite book.
Round 1 - I built items from Harry Potter.
Round 2 - 30 Minutes: Something from your favorite vacation.
Round 2 - I built a lighthouse and a lobster to represent Maine
Round 3 - 1 hour: Something that represents you.
Round 3 - I built a LEGO MINIFIGURE princess
Once the original MMB left, they held another Brickfactor, in which I competed and won! The competition consisted of three timed build rounds where we were given a theme just before building. The challenge was that there was a time limit and we had a limited selection of pieces to work with. I was the MMB at the Boston Attraction from September 2015 to March of 2021. During this time I was the only female MMB of all of the Discovery Centers in North America.
Round 1 - 30 Minutes: Mythical Creatures
Round 2 - 30 Minutes: Something that represents America
Round 3 - 1 Hour: Favorite Character or Cartoon.
